Streaming with Streamlabs

Setting up your stream and going live

Start by collecting the RTMP URL and stream key from the source you plan to use. This could be YouTube or Vimeo for example.

Setting up your stream in your realm

  • Go to your realm
  • Go to channels, find your channel and click channel settings
  • Click schedule a stream
  • Enter the stream URL that you copied from your spreadsheet
  • Add your stream to the relevant categories
  • If you’d like, you can schedule an automatic start for your stream on a specific date and time
  • You can also schedule an end time, though this isn’t recommended for most streams because the stream will end automatically regardless of where you are in your content.
  • If keep VOD after stream is enabled, the stream will become available on demand after the stream has ended. If it is disabled, the stream will not be available to watch after the stream has ended.
  • If stream VOD as live is enabled, viewers will watch the video in sync when live, allowing you to go live with a pre-recorded video. Note: playback bar controls should be disabled through Vimeo when using this feature to prevent users from skipping ahead.
  • The mature content option should be enabled if you’re streaming content that shouldn’t be viewed by all audiences.
  • Click save
