Setting up your stream and going live

If you’d like to stream using broadcasting software (Streamlabs, OBS)

  • Go to YouTube.com
  • Navigate to the camera icon in the top right corner and in the dropdown click go live. You’ll then be taken to your live stream dashboard
  • Click the calendar icon in the left menu
  • Navigate to the schedule stream button in the top right corner
  • Name your stream and optionally add a description
  • Add a thumbnail. The max size for this image can be 2MB
  • Select whether this content is made for kids or not
  • Click next and go to the visibility section
  • If you don’t want your content accessible in YouTube, under privacy select unlisted
  • Select the date and time you plan to go live (you must go live 10 minutes before or after this time otherwise your stream will be canceled)
  • Copy your stream key and paste it into the broadcasting software of your choice
  • To get your stream URL, click the share icon in the top right corner and copy the URL given to you. Save this for a later step

If you’d like to use a VOD for your stream

  • Upload your video to YouTube
  • Once your video is uploaded, go to video view
  • Copy the link to your video
    • This link will be used as the stream URL in stream manager in your realm

If you’d like to stream with Studio

  • After you’ve created your stream in your realm, click join lobby
  • Enter the lobby and from the 3 dot menu click enter studio mode.
  • From here you can create scenes from scratch, use our templates, and brand your stream.
