What happens when I want to end a stream?

Take this scenario for example, you were live in both YouTube and your realm, but you ended the YouTube stream and noticed the realms stream was still live until you ended the lobby, which automatically ended the stream. You might be wondering, is this normal? What happens if I want to end my stream?

There are 2 types of media sources, those that are broadcastable and those that are not.

  • Broadcastable media source: As an example, a live event on YouTube or Twitch.
  • Not broadcastable media source: Could be a link to your Apple podcast or a prerecorded Vimeo video.

If you only use broadcastable media sources
Ending your last broadcastable media source will automatically end your stream in realms.

If you only use not broadcastable media sources
You will need to manually end your stream in realms because you are streaming already recorded content rather than a live event.

If you only use a combination of broadcastable and not broadcastable media sources
You will need to manually end your stream in realms because the prerecorded video is still being streamed to your users.

What happens if I end or leave my lobby?
If you end your lobby or choose to leave it, your stream will be automatically ended.
