What is Realms.tv?

Overview​

Thank you for choosing to use Realms.tv! We’ve compiled a few best practices below in order to assist you with setting up your realm and creating your first stream.

What’s a realm?​

A realm is your unique instance of Realms.tv that is specific to your community. Your server can be customized to meet the needs of your users and you can set up live streaming the way you want with:

  • Channels
  • Categories
  • Achievements
  • Quizzes
  • Integrations
  • Subscriptions
  • Credit and subscription goals
  • Requests, shop products, and more.

Channels​

To organize your content by permissions, topic, or streamer, use channels. You can customize your channel to fit you and your topic by selecting channel-specific graphics, subscriptions, Q&As, polls and more.

Categories​

Categories add an additional level of organization to your content. Say you want to find all videos regardless of channel that relates to sports. With categories, you’ll be able to see all content that has used the sports category in order to easily find and watch the content you’re looking for.

Realm dashboard​

Much of the activity on your realm is recorded and displayed on the manager panel dashboard. With Realms.tv, you own your data and have control over the direction of your platform.

Roles​

Do you have premium content that you plan to stream on your realm? Control who can see this content with roles. Optionally, you can control who can view your stream, who can view chat, who can interact with chat and more.

Credit and subscription goals​

If you’re planning to raise money for your community, you may want to use credit and subscription goals. Set a start and end date for a campaign and as users donate credits to your goal or subscribe, you’ll see progress and how close you are to meeting your goal.

Chat prompts​

Want to directly ask your viewers a question or survey your users? You can create a Q&A or poll during your stream to get user feedback.

Emotes​

If you have custom graphics that you’d like to use in your realm you can create emotes so that users can chat during a live stream with graphics unique to your brand.

Achievements​

Rewarding users for positive activities can be a great way to gamify your platform and encourage a healthy environment for your viewers. With Realms.tv, you can create custom achievements targeted towards actions you’d like to reward.
