Moderator permissions overview
As a community grows, your platform can attract bots or spam users who have the goal to wreak havoc on your platform through dummy content, promotion of unrelated products, or collection of your user’s personal information for nefarious purposes. You may also find users that intentionally or unintentionally contribute to a negative atmosphere with inappropriate content, bullying, or trolling. To maintain a healthy and thriving community, you should form a moderation team to monitor and mitigate problematic content.
An overview of moderator permissions
- Change channel purchase state: This allows a moderator to approve or deny any channel purchases
- Moderate channels: With this permission, moderators can delete messages and ban users
- Chat message delay: This determines the period of time that moderators will need to wait before posting another chat message
- View all content: Moderators will be able to bypass all view restrictions for content and view it anyway
- Bypass chat mode: If the chat mode is emote only mode for example, moderators will still be able to send normal messages in chat
- Change chat mode: Moderators can switch between chat modes for the stream they’re moderating
